Each year we have to go through the extensive and rigorous process of having an external “audit” from NCFE with regard to our customised qualification: the Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy.

Most hypnotherapy training schools and colleges simply issue their own qualification and print the certificates off on their office printer.

Back in 2007 the College made the decision to develop it's own externally accredited qualification with NCFE.

NCFE are a government-regulated, non-profit organisation focused on offering and accrediting vocational qualifications.

So in 2007, in collaboration with a consultant from NCFE we developed the Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy – which is accredited by NCFE and is verified as being equivalent to Level 4 qualifications.

Externally accredited or verified qualifications assure learners that training schools are meeting standards and operating with good and reasonable procedures.
The standards for qualifications – in terms of length and level – are set by the government-regulated OfQual.

Customised qualifications, like ours, have to meet those some standards (e.g. a Diploma must be a minimum of 370 hours total qualification time).

I believe we are the only hypnotherapy training school offering its own externally awarded qualification.
It is a LOT of work but something we are very proud of.

Each year we have an External Qualification Assessor visit whereby NCFE review all our record-keeping, student feedback, assessment marking, internal verification, policies and procedures with regard to the qualification we offer.

Externally awarded qualifications create enormous extra work for training organisations but they assure students of the quality and rigour of the training school.

Our 2021 EQA visit was on March 1st 2021 – and we received our report on March 2nd, informing us that we had passed – with flying colours.
(That means there were no required corrective actions and plenty of praise for the College, our staff and way of operating).

The report is available for you to read online here.

It takes a lot of effort to prepare for this and a special thank you has to go to Marion Bailey who worked extremely hard and conscientiously to pull all the documents together.

And also, of course, to our amazing team of assessors – headed up by Shelley Cushway and our Internal Verifier, Simon Clarke.

If you have any questions about our customised qualification please feel free to get in touch with me.
